PR2 high and low temperature pressure test systems
News Details
Oilfield equipment manufacturers need to assess how components perform when pressure, temperature, and mechanical loads change. A suitable test system must coordinate these conditions while recording the results clearly.
We develop modular PR2 high and low temperature test systems for pressure and gas tightness testing of wellhead valves, packers, check valves, downhole tools, and related components.
Our equipment combines hydraulic and pneumatic systems, thermal conditioning, load application, and computer-based data acquisition.
Review our system specifications, explore temperature control capabilities, or prepare a technical inquiry.
Modular Equipment Design for Combined Testing
The system brings several functions together while keeping individual modules accessible for installation and maintenance.
| Module | Main function |
| Hydraulic system | Generates liquid pressure for the specified test duty |
| Pneumatic system | Supplies and controls gas pressure |
| Heating and cooling system | Conditions the thermal circuit |
| Circulation system | Transfers the conditioning medium through the agreed arrangement |
| Load application system | Applies specified mechanical loading |
| Computer control and data acquisition | Coordinates operation and records test signals |
This modular structure helps buyers define a system around the component and test programme.
For example, a valve project may require pressure and temperature cycling together with actuation-related measurements. A downhole tool may need a different fixture and loading arrangement.
Therefore, the equipment scope should follow the approved test requirements.

These figures describe different system capabilities. They do not establish that every pressure, medium, and temperature combination is available simultaneously.
The approved configuration must define the operating envelope for the complete pressure circuit, fixtures, seals, and component.
Model references include AM-35, AM-70, AM-105, and AM-140. Confirm each model’s pressure and temperature rating against its final datasheet.
High and Low Temperature Conditioning
The thermal system uses heating, circulation, and cooling to establish the required test conditions.
PID regulation controls the conditioning circuit. A high-temperature circulation pump moves synthetic heat-transfer oil through the specified arrangement, supporting controlled heat distribution.
The listed thermal oil range extends from −60°C to +350°C. The water circuit has a separate listed range of 0°C to +90°C.
Thermal fluid temperature and component temperature must be specified separately. The temperature reached inside a test article depends on its geometry, thermal mass, installation, and stabilisation period.
For procurement, define sensor locations, required temperature stability, uniformity, and transition times. These details provide a clearer acceptance basis than maximum temperature alone.

Pressure, Gas Tightness, and Load Application
The system supports combined test arrangements involving pressure, temperature, and mechanical loading.
Hydraulic and gas circuits serve different duties. Select the circuit and medium according to the component and approved procedure.
For gas tightness testing, also define the leak measurement method and acceptance limit. A pressure rating alone does not establish leak detection sensitivity.
The load application module must be specified around the required force, direction, travel, and fixture arrangement. Provide these requirements during design review.
In addition, confirm which functions must operate together. This helps align the pressure source, thermal equipment, loading system, and controls.
Computer Control and Test Records
Computer control manages the agreed test sequence and collects operating data. Remote manual control of individual valves is also available.
During testing, the software displays pressure-time and temperature-time curves. It automatically stores collected data and allows operators to print test reports.
For quality records, define the required report fields before ordering. These may include component identification, test medium, pressure history, temperature history, loading conditions, and inspection results.
Also, specify measurement accuracy, calibration records, recording intervals, and data retention requirements.
The system layout separates relevant thermal, hydraulic, and gas functions. Remote operation supports monitoring from a designated control position, while the complete installation requires protective arrangements suited to the test duty.
Applications for Oilfield Component Manufacturers
Our systems address development and performance evaluation across several product groups.
| Component group | Main equipment considerations |
| Wellhead valves | Pressure connections, temperature conditioning, and valve operation |
| Thermal recovery wellhead valves | Elevated-temperature duty and suitable seals |
| Check valves | Pressure direction, sealing arrangement, and test sequence |
| Downhole packers | Fixture geometry, pressure loading, and thermal conditions |
| Retrieval tools | Component handling, connections, and mechanical loading |
| Drilling tools and related components | Test volume, installation space, and inspection requirements |
For PR2 projects, identify the applicable product specification, edition, and validation procedure. The required sequence depends on the equipment being evaluated.
A test system’s temperature or pressure capability does not by itself establish product qualification. The complete procedure, measurements, acceptance criteria, and records must support that assessment.
How to Specify a PR2 Test System
Provide the following information with your inquiry:
-
Component drawings, dimensions, mass, and connections.
-
Applicable specification and approved test procedure.
-
Required pressure levels and test media.
-
Minimum and maximum component temperatures.
-
Thermal transition and stabilisation requirements.
-
Mechanical loads, movement, and fixture needs.
-
Required operating and cycling sequences.
-
Leak measurement method and acceptance limits.
-
Instrument accuracy, calibration, and reporting requirements.
-
Site utilities, installation space, workload, and delivery needs.
Where available, include the planned test sequence. This helps identify the functions that must operate together.
Request a PR2 Test Equipment Quotation
Send your component details, pressure requirements, temperature conditions, and loading programme to discuss a suitable configuration.
The quotation should identify the supplied modules, confirmed operating limits, fixtures, instruments, controls, and documentation. Use the PR2 system specification checklist to prepare a complete inquiry.
