Subsea Control Umbilicals and High-Pressure Hose Bundles
News Details
Offshore projects require reliable connections between surface equipment and subsea systems. Buyers need to assess pressure capacity, fluid compatibility, external pressure, deployment loads, and required control functions.
We supply subsea control hose bundles, workover umbilicals, hydraulic flying leads, and related high-pressure hose assemblies. Available configurations combine fluid lines with electrical conductors, optical fibers, and strength members as needed.
Explore our hose and bundle capabilities, review materials and manufacturing, or prepare a project specification.
Configurations for Offshore Control Applications
Different offshore operations require different combinations of hoses, cables, fittings, and terminations.
| Product Configuration | Application Focus |
| BOP control hose bundles | Hydraulic connections for specified subsea blowout prevention control arrangements |
| Workover control bundles | Fluid delivery and control connections for intervention operations |
| Hydraulic flying leads | Connections between compatible subsea hydraulic interfaces |
| High-pressure hose assemblies | Individual fluid lines for control or injection applications |
| Collapse-resistant hoses | Applications requiring resistance to external pressure |
| Combined hose and cable bundles | Projects requiring fluid lines alongside power or signal connections |
The complete design should reflect actual operating and deployment conditions. A hose suitable for one circuit may require a different construction for another fluid, temperature, or external pressure.
Subsea Hose and Bundle Capabilities
The available range includes high-pressure thermoplastic hoses and long-length control bundles.
| Feature | Selection Scope |
| Hose Working Pressure | Selected hose types up to 15,000 psi |
| Hose Internal Diameter | Options up to 2 inches, depending on hose type |
| Bundle Outside Diameter | Configurations up to 6 inches, subject to design |
| Bundle Length | Long continuous constructions, including selected designs over 10,000 ft |
| Functional Elements | Hoses, electrical cables, optical fibers, and strength members |
| Delivery Arrangement | Spools, deployment reels, or integrated system packages |
These capabilities apply to selected constructions. They do not indicate that the largest bore, highest pressure, maximum bundle diameter, and longest length are available together.
Individual hose length and finished bundle length are also separate specifications. Confirm both during quotation review, including any permitted joints or splices.
Material Selection and Hose Manufacturing
Hose construction begins with the fluid contact layer. Core materials must be compatible with the hydraulic fluid, injection chemical, and operating temperature.
Available design approaches include fluoropolymer-lined cores and multilayer extrusion. These options address chemical compatibility and permeation requirements.
Reinforcement supports the internal pressure duty, while the outer jacket protects the hose according to the specified environment. Fire-resistant jacket options require their own agreed performance criteria and supporting test evidence.
The manufacturing process combines extrusion, reinforcement, and bundling. For technical approval, please request the proposed material construction and its qualification basis.
Also, define external pressure conditions. Internal working pressure alone does not guarantee collapse resistance at the intended operating depth.

Low-Tension Bundling of Hoses and Cables
Bundle construction affects both handling and performance.
Low-tension planetary cabling can reduce internal torque during manufacturing. Lower-torque construction helps improve bundle stability during handling and deployment.
The arrangement of hoses, cables, optical fibers, and strength members should follow the required functions and mechanical loads. Each element must also fit within the overall diameter and bending limits.
For reel-based deployment, provide reel dimensions, deployment method, handling loads, and minimum bend radius. These details help align the bundle with the equipment used offshore.
Cold-temperature requirements should be stated separately, including whether they apply during storage, handling, deployment, or operation.
Fittings, Couplings, and Terminations
A suitable hose requires compatible end connections.
Available fitting options include different connection designs and materials such as stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, and titanium. Selection depends on fluid compatibility, corrosion exposure, pressure, and mating equipment.
Custom fitting designs can be reviewed if standard connections do not meet project requirements. The associated assembly tooling and application method must also be defined.
For each connection, specify interface dimensions, material, pressure rating, and inspection requirements. Then review the rating of the complete assembly.
Hose ratings should not be assumed to apply unchanged to every fitting and termination combination.
Qualification, Inspection, and Testing
A clear test program helps buyers assess whether the proposed design meets its intended application.
Available testing arrangements include pressure testing, cleanliness verification, cold-temperature testing, and bend-radius evaluation. Additional requirements can be reviewed through specialized testing providers.
For subsea umbilicals, API 17E covers design, material selection, manufacturing, verification, testing, installation, and operation. Specify the applicable edition and project requirements during the inquiry.
Distinguish design qualification from production acceptance testing. The agreed program should identify which tests apply to representative samples and which apply to delivered hoses or bundles.
Also, request traceability and test records for supplied components and completed assemblies. Component-level evidence should be reviewed within the qualification scope of the entire system.
Integrated Delivery and Deployment Packages
Our offering includes control bundle and hydraulic flying lead system packages.
Bundles can be supplied on spools or deployment reels, with required terminations and agreed ancillary equipment. The supply scope should clearly identify what is included at each end.
For integrated packages, review the bundle, fittings, reels, handling interfaces, and installation requirements together. This helps reduce interface gaps between equipment suppliers.
Before dispatch, confirm packaging, transport dimensions, storage conditions, lifting arrangements, and required documentation.

Request a Subsea Hose Bundle Quotation
Send your circuit requirements, service conditions, length, and deployment details to discuss a suitable configuration.
Whether you need a BOP control bundle, workover umbilical, or hydraulic flying lead package, the quotation should define the construction, operating limits, testing, and delivery scope. Use the subsea umbilical specification checklist to prepare your inquiry.
