The SPIR STAR 6/2KF High Pressure Hose is a base hose for heated hose systems used in automotive hot melt dispensing. It has a 6 mm PTFE bore, two layers of high-tensile steel wire reinforcement, and an outer braid of galvanized steel wire.

The hose carries a 500 bar (7,250 psi) working-pressure rating from +20°C to +50°C. At higher temperatures, the manufacturer specifies lower pressure values. For a hot glue line, use the adhesive temperature and required working pressure together when specifying the assembly.

Working Pressure at Hot Melt Temperatures

The manufacturer gives correction factors for higher temperatures. Applying them to the 500 bar base rating gives the following hose-only values.

Working temperature Manufacturer factor Calculated hose working pressure
+100°C 0.95 475 bar
+150°C 0.90 450 bar
+200°C 0.83 415 bar

Confirm the working pressure of the finished heated hose assembly at your process temperature. The selected fittings can lower the permitted assembly pressure.

Route the Hose Around the Dispensing Equipment

Start with the full route between the adhesive supply and dispensing head. Then check available space at bends and connections. For dynamic loads, the manufacturer calls for at least twice the listed bend radius. Use 120 mm or more as the starting point and confirm the final radius for the movement involved.

The 11 mm outside diameter describes the base hose. Include fittings, heating elements, insulation, and any protective jacket when checking the finished assembly’s clearance. If the hose will be used in a conventional assembly, specify suitable corrosion protection for the exposed wire.

Select the End Fittings for Your Machine

The datasheet lists a G1/4 female swivel insert with a 24°/60° connection and steel or stainless steel sleeve options. Provide the connection drawing for each end so the thread and sealing face can be matched to the equipment.

Also, record the 4.5 mm insert bore separately from the 6 mm hose bore. If adhesive delivery is sensitive to flow, include the adhesive grade, process temperature, required flow, and finished hose length in your inquiry.

Request a 6/2KF Hose Quotation

For an OEM build or replacement order, specify Type 6/2KF and datasheet reference 62KF9. Send the finished length, end connections, working temperature, required pressure, and order quantity. Include any movement, heating, or protective cover requirements so the quote covers the assembly you need.
